SUPPORT VIDA'S SPINAL CORD SURGERY (SPINA BIFIDA REPAIR)
Vida Kumiwaa's health condition.
The above named 20-year-old young woman has been seen on several occasions at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, Ghana. We got to know about Vida's condition through a friend who has seen her daily challenges.
Throughout Vida's life, she has no control over when to urinate or ease herself. The urine and stool come out without her control or she being aware (involuntarily). This has made it very difficult for her to mingle with others. She struggled through Primary school and JHS amidst teasing and rejection.
Dr. Asibey, “The Snr Specialist at the Pediatric Unit”, diagnosed Vida as having Occult Spina Bifida: a condition in which she was born with affects her spinal cord, which has caused Vida to have Bladder and bowel dysfunction.
According to Dr. Jacqueline Asibey, the Snr. Specialist at the Pediatric Unit at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital, an estimated amount of 18,000 Ghana Cedis about ($4,100.00) is needed to correct Vida’s Spina Bifida issues.
We wish to however plead on behalf of our friend and sister, Vida Kumiwaa and her family for any little assistance to support her to undergo this surgery to repair her Spina Bifida.
Thank you for donating to help our sister Vida. May God richly bless you and all yours.
